Description

I first grabbed this lovely wooden box for its great shape and dovetailed corners

" adopted by the company in 1883 after a painting by the Swiss artist Jean-Étienne Liotard called Das_Schokoladenm

And then those little flowers everywhere

I am uncertain as to whether it is bronze cast or iron cast with bronze finish (it is quite heavy for its size)

and the the sweetgrass on the sides and lip has been twisted and woven in a variety of patterns

Early 20th c. Schoenhut "Humpty Dumpty" Circus Chair folk object I first grabbed this lovelyInitially founded to make toy pianos, the Schoenhut Piano Company, based in Philadelphia, debuted its Humpty Dumpty Circus in 1903, and I do believe it was the best thing they ever made not just for the clowns and animals, but also for the circus furniture, including ladders and pedestals and this 100% perfect chair! Really sort of iconic, and pretty hard to beat. 5" tall x 3" wide and deep. Great condition, perfectly aged and worn, very sturdy.
