Well, in my experience its mostly because counterfeiters and bootleggers are either (or both): lazy and looking for a quick buck ignorant about the world of fan-made fake cards I mean think about it we had READY MADE materials for counterfeiters and bootleggers to make their own fake cards and sell them, and we wouldnt have been able to do anything about it
It being released at the height of the game's popularity and a highly desirable ex card means that there are probably a lot of copies in existence, although just how many of those belong to accounts that are still active is anybody's guess
Increase its level for the measly cost of 1 green mana, and whichever creature you choose to upgrade with this card's trigger will always have ward 1
